The latest update for Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 3, has just been released, and it’s truly remarkable. This update brings two major changes: full Mac support and the introduction of a magic mirror that allows you to alter your character’s appearance.
With the magic mirror, which can be found at your camp, you have the power to modify your character’s appearance, voice, pronouns, and even their genitals. However, it’s important to note that certain aspects such as race/subtype and body type cannot be changed. Additionally, any cosmetic changes resulting from character choices will be permanent. It’s worth mentioning that the magic mirror cannot be used to alter Origin characters, hirelings, or transformed characters.
Furthermore, this patch aims to improve performance on both PC and PS5, particularly in Act 3. Specifically, performance in the Lower City and dense crowds has been significantly enhanced. More fixes related to performance are still in the works. As for console-specific repairs, quality mode on PS5 should now achieve its desired fps targets more consistently. Additionally, an issue on PS5 that caused the game to crash when connected to the internet seems to have been resolved, although it is not explicitly mentioned in the patch notes.
Rest assured, there are more updates on the horizon that will bring new features and changes to the game’s epilogue. For a summary of the patch notes, continue reading below, or visit the Baldur’s Gate 3 website for the full, spoiler-inclusive notes.
